In July of 2022, Luca Tomlinson initiated YWP's very first conseravation initiative. This was in the form of a fundraising raffle, where we managed to raise R15500 towards Birdlife South Africa's Secretarybird Conservation Program, specifically toward the purchasing of new tracking devices that will be used in the new climate change study that aims to identify how climate change is affecting our Secretarybird population, which has already seen a significant decline in numbers over the past decade. We were able to give away some amazing prizes thanks to some of our generous partners, which can be found under the partners and sponsors section of the website. We hope that our small contribution will help in ensuring the future of our beloved and charismatic Secretarybirds.
