Play Time

About the image

As golden hour approached, the Vervet Monkey Troop of Pretoriuskop Rest Camp was preparing for the night. The adults were grooming one another, whilst the young used this opportunity to play. Wrestling and swinging from branches, they put on a good show!

About the photographer

My passion for photography began with a love for animals and nature. Growing up in South Africa, I’ve always been fascinated by the animals around me, but getting my first camera allowed me to experience them in a completely different way. I particularly enjoy wildlife and landscape photography, whether it’s waiting patiently for the right moment or exploring somewhere new. For me, photography is about more than taking a good photograph. It’s about being present, observing, and capturing a moment that might otherwise be forgotten. I love telling stories through my images and sharing the beauty of South Africa with others. Being behind the camera gives me a reason to slow down, explore, and appreciate the natural world around me.

PHOTOGRAPHER'S QUOTE

Photography allows me to be present in the moment and capture it the way I saw it.

CONSERVATION MESSAGE

Wildlife doesn’t have to be big or dramatic to be worth protecting. Every species, from the smallest creatures to our most iconic animals, plays a role in the ecosystems. Protecting wildlife means protecting natural spaces that allow these moments to exist.
