Cold Blooded Silhouette
About the image
Ever since I started with photography, I always had an idea in my head for a picture of a gecko in its natural habitat, but I always struggled with getting the shot I always dreamed of. One night, while I was busy searching for a photo for the weekly YWP challenge, I saw exactly what I was trying to capture. As fate would have it, I was able to get one of my bucket-list shots. But what’s really special to me about this photograph is that I got to share that moment with my mother, who has always supported me with my photography.

About the photographer
I am an 18-year-old photographer from Secunda, Mpumalanga. Ever since I was young, I have always loved nature, and I spent most of my time outside. Once I found my mom’s old Nikon in a box, I finally had a way to express the love I have for it. Being behind the camera is so much more than just taking photos. It’s a way for me to express my emotions, and it gives me a way to show nature to other people the way I see it.
PHOTOGRAPHER'S QUOTE
One photo can tell a thousand stories.
CONSERVATION MESSAGE
People travel so far and wide to see nature and wild and yet most people never seem to realise the beauty in the nature that lives besides them in their backyard.
