The Shape of Africa
About the image
This is dedicated to my great friend and the ultimate co-pilot. Right before leaving Kruger's Orpen Gate, a passing car cost us our shot of a beautiful Zebra Stallion with a classic lowveld sunset behind him. But thanks to my friend's quick thinking and sharp eyes, he spun us around and guided me straight to this incredible view, which ultimately became one of my favourite Kruger sightings.

About the photographer
I grew up in Hoedspruit, Limpopo, attending a school on a wildlife estate with the Kruger National Park right on our doorstep. Nature was all around me, there was always something new to discover, so falling in love with it was inevitable. My wildlife journey began simply by capturing basic moments during trips into the Kruger National Park. This quickly grew into a passion for telling stories through my images and making wildlife the centre of attention. As an avid birder, bird photography has always held a special place for me. Birds are often overlooked, and I love using my photography to show people around the world just how beautiful and diverse they really are. For me, being behind the camera is about far more than taking pictures. Of course, capturing that perfect moment is incredibly rewarding, but the time I spend behind the camera is also a chance to slow down, relax and forget about everything happening around me - besides my subject, of course.
PHOTOGRAPHER'S QUOTE
Nature acts as a restorative for metal well-being.
CONSERVATION MESSAGE
Photography is a tool that we can use to get people excited and in love with wildlife, thus getting them more connected and involved in saving them.
