About the image
After 18 years in the bush, I finally saw a pangolin! Overwhelmed by the privilege, I realised how few ever get to see one. Yet somehow, I was gifted more than a sighting- I stood mere meters away, at its level, seeing the bush through its eyes. A moment I’ll never forget.

About the photographer
I’ve grown up in the bush, spending almost every school holiday surrounded by wildlife and nature. From a young age, I became fascinated by the incredible animals and unforgettable moments I experienced during these trips. Photography naturally became a way for me to capture and remember all the amazing sightings I’ve had over the years. I love photographing wildlife in its natural environment, especially those unexpected, fleeting moments that you only get once. Being behind the camera allows me to preserve these memories and share a small glimpse of the beauty I’ve been fortunate enough to experience. For me, wildlife photography is about more than just taking a photograph—it’s about capturing a moment, a feeling, and a memory that I can carry with me long after leaving the bush.
