Curious About Me
About the image
I found this chameleon while looking for reptiles and crawled underneath the bush to get a better look at it. I was so focused on watching it that I didn’t immediately realise it was watching me too. When our eyes met, it felt like we were both equally curious about each other. I love finding moments like this in nature, especially with animals that are easy to overlook. Getting down to its level made me feel like I had stepped into its world for a moment. This photograph is special to me because it wasn’t just me observing a chameleon, it felt like the chameleon was observing me too.

About the photographer
My interest in wildlife started young, largely thanks to my grandpa. Whenever I visited him, we went bird watching and talked about the natural world. I took my first photos using my parents’ Kodak camera, capturing the small creatures and details I found around me. Today, I love photographing wildlife especially reptiles and overlooked smaller creatures. They are fascinating, and I enjoy revealing their subtle beauty to people who might otherwise walk right past them. Being behind the lens lets me share my perspective with others. It gives me the chance to highlight things I admire, hopefully inspiring people to pause and appreciate animals they would normally ignore. For me, photography is a privilege that allows me to capture intimate pieces of nature that not everyone gets to see.
